4th Week July 1816: Princess Charlotte: This Week in the Regency

Princess Charlotte’s short life was full of intrigue, bad parenting and true love. Charlotte (named after her grandmother, the queen, was the daughter of the Prince Regent and his wife, Princess Caroline of Brunswick (see earlier videos). Independent, stubborn and ultimately successful in marrying the man she loved, despite her father’s opposition, she is barely known now. Why? Because of her tragic death in childbirth at only 21.
